Throwaway account for this.

Background:

I’m a total new seller on Amazon US, in a super competitive low-price, high-volume niche. I took over a product that was basically being liquidated off-site. Then an influencer post blew up overnight — we hit #3 BSR, switched to ads, and suddenly did 300 orders a day, steady top 20 in subcategory.

Then we stockouted. Hard.

Replacement stock took 2 full weeks to arrive.

Once we restocked, we pushed LD and Prime discounts to stay afloat, and sales held around 100/day. But after Christmas, rank just kept falling. Now we’re outside top 50, and ads make up 80% of sales.

Current nightmare:

  • Organic rank is basically gone

  • 80% ad dependency — if ads stop, sales die

  • Strikethrough price disappeared completely

  • Leadership is on me to bring back list price

  • Ad budget is tight — any jump in CPC and budget gets cut immediately

Questions:

  1. How do I grow orders again slowly? How do I actually tell if listing changes are working?

  2. Manual CPC is insane — $4+ even for long-tail. Competitors pay way less. Should I even bother with manual ads, or just run auto?

  3. One top 5 competitor is unbeatable. Another top 30 has a worse listing than me, but BD sales don’t even affect them. Why?

  4. Ads are 80% of sales. No ads = no orders. How do I break this cycle?

  5. Strikethrough price is gone from all the LD/Prime discounting. How do I get it back?

Any real advice helps. I’m stuck.
