One of my ASINs got hit with a text and image copyright complaint from a competitor about a month ago.
I actually launched my product before he did, but when I first created the listing I used some similar images from his old listing since our products look almost identical.
Later on, he updated his old listing to match my exact product and then filed a copyright complaint against me.
Amazon took the listing down immediately.
I’ve tried so many times to update the listing through flat file, but it just won’t save.
Every time I contact support, they say the same thing:
“Copyright issue unresolved — you can’t edit until infringing content is removed.”
But I can’t edit the listing to remove it. It’s a total deadlock.
Has anyone here actually gotten out of this?
I’d really appreciate any real, working method.

When a listing is locked for IP issues, what you see on the frontend is not real.
Once they confirm the content is clean, you can submit your appeal.
Appeal with proof that you published earlier and that the content was originally yours.
Original layered images, creation timestamps, proof you published first, supplier invoices, authorization documents.
If your regular POA doesn’t work, the DMCA counter-notice is powerful — it forces them to show official copyright registration or drop the claim entirely.
