I’m in a real tough spot right now. My brand got removed due to brand abuse—long story short, too many risky authorization moves across multiple accounts. Now I’ve lost edit rights: no 5-bullet points, can’t run brand ads, but I can still follow-on and send inventory (thank god for small wins).
I already bought a new EU R-mark and registered it on a fresh seller account. The problem? I have over 100 existing ASINs (all selling in UK and Germany) that need to switch to the new brand.
I’ve tried the usual tricks—flat file updates, partial delete/update—and they just throw errors. I’m not here for shady hacks, just practical, white-hat methods that actually work.
My main questions:
-
How do I change the brand name on these ASINs? What’s the safest, most effective way (especially with 100+ of them)?
-
Once the brand is changed, can I still enroll those ASINs in Transparency?
-
For Germany: Will my existing WEEE registration and EU Authorised Rep still be valid after the brand change?
Any advice from someone who’s been through this would be a lifesaver. Thanks guys.

Pick your top 10-20 best-selling ASINs and focus on those. They’re the ones worth the effort.
For the rest? Create new ASINs under the new brand and redirect traffic—bundle them with your top sellers, add cross-sell links, or just let the old ASINs sell out.
Brute-forcing 100+ ASINs will only trigger more flags (brand abuse, listing violations) and put your new account at risk. Not worth it.
WEEE and EU Authorised Rep (for Germany)—let me break this down clearly:
Just fix the brand first, then enroll. Simple as that.
Changing brand on existing ASINs is a total nightmare, especially with 100+—trust me, I’ve been there. Here are the methods that actually work (from least to most risky, based on what I’ve tested):
Cross-marketplace sync (low risk, my go-to)
If you have access to a smaller marketplace (Canada, Mexico, Australia—doesn’t matter which), follow-on your ASINs there. The brand field is almost always unlocked on those smaller stores. Change the brand to your new one there, then sync it back to EU. Amazon shares catalog data across marketplaces, so this usually sticks.
How to do it (step-by-step):
Open a case with Brand Registry (medium risk, but most compliant)
Grab clear photos of your product + packaging with the new brand logo (stickers are fine, no need for full rebranded packaging yet). Attach your new trademark certificate. Open a case via Brand Registry (https://brandregistry.amazon.com/cu/contact-us) and ask them to update the brand on your specific ASINs. Explain you legally rebranded and have proof. It might take 2-3 attempts (Amazon reps can be hit-or-miss), but it’s the only fully approved method.
Use a Vendor Central account (if you have access)
If you or someone you know has a VC account, they can edit ASINs directly—even without edit rights. If you hire a VC service, it’s expensive (especially for 100 ASINs), but it works. Only worth it for your top-selling ASINs, not the whole batch.
Heads up: Don’t waste time with the “OldBrand NewBrand” flat file trick—it’s been patched. Amazon flags it now, and you’ll just waste time.
