My top-selling ASIN got split from its parent variation due to a random system glitch.
While trying to fix it, my title and bullets got completely wiped – had to rebuild the whole listing.
Once I finally merged everything back, my AC badge and strikethrough price disappeared.
Now my core keywords that were stuck on page 1 are all on page 2.
Ad clicks are mostly back, but conversion is way down, and ACOS is up ~4% from December.
I’m already running:
-
20% coupon (already low margin)
-
Increased ad bids
-
7-day Deal (today is day 1)
My BSR is back to where it was pre-incident, but sales are only half.
My questions:
-
Outside of lowering price, more ads, and deals – are there legit ways to recover organic keyword rank?
-
During the 7DD, should I RAISE or LOWER bids? I lowered them because ACOS is already bad, but not sure if that’s hurting me.
-
Does off-site promo actually help keyword rank, or just sales?
Any real-world advice would save me right now.

Relevance: Make sure your main keyword appears naturally in your title, bullets, and A+. The more Amazon sees that keyword leading to clicks and conversions, the higher your relevance score.
Order volume: Increase orders for that specific keyword. During your Deal, put extra budget into exact match campaigns for those core keywords. If you can get, say, 10 orders a day for a keyword for a week, the rank will likely recover.
If you have a related but less competitive keyword (e.g., "portable power bank" instead of just "power bank"), start there. Build momentum, then scale up to the head term.
To recover rank:
For core keywords, run exact match campaigns with Top of Search placement multiplier (e.g., 30‑50%). This forces your ads to show on search results pages, not product pages.
ASIN targeting ads can also run on search placements (confirmed by Amazon). If those clicks convert, they help your keyword rank too.
Avoid direct price cuts – they lower your future Deal price. Instead, use Prime Exclusive Discounts (20% or less usually won't affect your Deal price). For non‑Prime members, you can use coupons.
Combine these ad tactics with a Deal (LD or 7‑day) to accelerate the effect.
First, stop guessing – look at actual data.
Compare before vs after:
If clicks are down → traffic problem.
If conversion down → listing / competition / price problem.
January is not December. Never compare peak season to post-holiday.
For off-site: use Amazon’s own Social Media Promo Codes.
Big discounts drive sales spikes, which help rank – just watch margin.
During a 7-day Deal, you absolutely want to INCREASE bids, not decrease.
The deal badge gives you better conversion, so top-of-search ads will perform way better.
Even if you take a small hit that week, the organic lift usually sticks for 1–2 weeks after.
If BSR is back but sales are half, the category is almost certainly slower (January is brutal). Don’t overreact.
